General questions

Can I book a trip through this site?

No. Global Dynamic Tour is an editorial travel library. We publish routes, destination overviews and guides. There is no booking engine, no payment system and no reservation service on this site. You book transport and accommodation directly with the providers you choose.

Do I need an account?

No. Everything on the site is open to read without signing in. The only thing you can subscribe to is the email newsletter, and that only needs an email address.

How often is the content updated?

Routes and guides are reviewed on a rolling basis, and we revise a page whenever a reader tells us something has changed or when a transport or seasonal detail is clearly out of date.

Questions about the routes

What do the budget ranges include?

Budget ranges are per person and cover accommodation, local transport, food and typical entry costs for the length of the route. They do not include international flights, travel insurance or shopping, because those vary too much to be useful as an average.

Can I change the number of days?

Yes, and most routes say where to cut or add. As a rule, removing a base is better than shortening every stop, because transfer days cost more time than they look like on paper.

Are the routes suitable for solo travellers?

Most are. The budget, culture, food and slow travel routes work well solo. Accommodation costs per person rise when travelling alone, so expect the upper end of the stated range.

Can I combine two travel styles?

That is the intended use. Many travellers take the structure of one route and borrow the restaurants or the accommodation approach of another. The scenarios are written as complete plans, not as fixed categories.

Trip planning questions

How far ahead should I book?

For summer in Italy, Greece or Portugal, two to four months is comfortable for accommodation. Advance train fares in France, Italy, the UK and Japan open between one and three months before departure and are usually the cheapest tickets you will see.

Do you recommend specific hotels?

We describe the kind of accommodation that fits each route, and the neighbourhoods worth staying in, rather than naming individual properties. Properties change hands and quality moves with them, so an approach ages better than a name.

What about travel insurance and visas?

We do not give legal or insurance advice. Check the entry requirements for your nationality with the official government source for the country you are visiting, and read any policy before you rely on it.

Content, photos and corrections

Where do the photographs come from?

Every photograph on the site is a real, licensed image of a real place, drawn from open photographic archives. We do not use generated imagery anywhere, including the portraits in the reviews section.

I found something that is wrong. What now?

Please tell us. Email [email protected] with the page and the detail, and we will check it against a current source and update the page if it needs it.

Can I republish your content?

Not without permission. Short quotations with a link back are fine. For anything longer, or for photo licensing questions, write to us first.
